Foxes had better watch out this month, with the Moss Vale Rural Lands Protection Board co-ordinating a large scale 1080 fox baiting program in the Southern Highlands.
The large-scale operation will cover the Kangaloon and Glenquarry areas in the coming weeks, while the Sydney Catchment Authority will undertake a similar baiting operation along the foreshores of the Wingecarribee Reservoir.
Moss Vale Rural Lands Protection Board senior ranger Charlie Signorelli said the baiting of foxes was necessary to preserve the region's ecology.
"We have an obligation to keep certain pests at an acceptable level," he said.
