Farmers' Association president to talk about property rights

18 Mar, 2010 05:07 PM
PROPERTY rights will be discussed at a meeting in Goulburn on March 29.

The NSW Farmers' Association president Charles Armstrong will tour the Goulburn and Crookwell regions, meeting with local members to discuss issues such as property rights and local industries.

Mr Armstrong said the region has obviously faced adversity and challenges specifically regarding the drought, as many areas have.

"Given the large wool industry in this area, I expect to discuss other issues such as animal health, research and development and industry representation," he said.

"Another issue affecting farmers and indeed all landholders around the country is of course the erosion of property rights, and this is certainly the case for people in the Southern Highlands.

"I look forward to hearing more about these issues from our members, and being able to share information about where the association is up to in our lobbying activities."

Date: Monday, March 29.

Time: Lunch 12noon for 12:30pm. Goulburn Soldiers Club, 15 Market Street, Goulburn.

Dinner 6pm.

Location: Lunch, Crookwell Services Club, 160 Goulburn Street, Crookwell.
