In reference to Mr Mauger's letter SHN. April 24, " More questions than answers on levy".

Let me assure Mr Mauger in spite of his rumblings that this environment levy process is very accountable and always has been.

All figures are freely available and are made public after every Levy (Program 29 ) review.

Let me also assure Mr Mauger that 80 per cent of the levy is spent on "on the ground works".

Lastly, I would like to pick up on a point raised by Mr Mauger which suggests that myself and the Mayor don't know the head from the tail of a horse.

Let me again assure Mr Mauger that we do.

It is easy enough to distinguish the head from the rear end of the beast, because there are usually a few familiar faces gathered around the later part of the animals anatomy adding albeit (verbal) methane to the chronic pollution that is affecting our atmosphere and contributing to the resulting greenhouse effect.
