Drenching falls short of record

29 Jun, 2007 09:28 AM
While this June has been the wettest the Southern Highlands has seen in 16 years, residents are being reminded there's no need to start building arks just yet as figures struggle to reach those of the late 1950s.

Rain has drenched the area this month, with Robertson experiencing the most rainfall with 523.8mm recorded to about 2pm yesterday.

While the area has certainly copped a drenching, figures are still more than 300mm short of the 850mm reported by the Southern Highland News to have fallen over 96 hours in the Robertson area in 1991.
