Crowds love Highland fling

The Mittagong sportsground was alive with the sound of 21 pipe bands on Sunday, at the Southern Highlands Scottish Pipe Band Competition.

The day was called a “fantastic event” by Charlie Johns, who oversaw the joint effort between the Mittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as the Highlands Pipes and Drums.

“We’ve completed the ticket count and we’ve had more than 3000 people through today,” Mr Johns said.

“It’s simply been a great day and all of the bands have been fantastic."
