Wingecarribee Shire Council will not fund an independent study into the effects of Big W's proposed Mittagong Marketplace development on Southern Highlands businesses.
Council discussed the issue in closed council at Wednesday's meeting.
A study on economic impacts of the development prepared by Dimasi Strategic Research for Big W as part of the development application conflicts with the 1996 Layschon Group report on retail growth in Wingecarribee Shire, commissioned by Wingecarribee Shire Council.
