The Editor
Dear Sir,
I read with disappointment of the breakdown of relations between the Bowral Business Chamber and the Southern Highlands Business Chamber.
There has been a perception in the community since the amalgamation of councils that too much emphasis has been put on Bowral to the exclusion of the villages and Moss Vale and Mittagong towns.
This breakdown only emphasises the narrow minded attitude of some of those in the Bowral chamber, and helps confirm the perception.
The concept of an European holiday in the Highlands was very short sighted and silly idea.
Michele Scamps, the recent appointment to the Southern Highland Business chamber, has a much wider vision for our community and must be given more than a few weeks to establish her position in the Southern Highland Business chamber.
I believe she has a big future in our community for she has the vision and the interest for the sake of the whole area.
Let us hope that sanity prevails and these people get back together for the sake of our community which I emphasise consists of all of our towns and villages and should be represented by people interested in the whole of the Shire, not just Bowral.
Yours faithfully
G Goodman
