10 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
The festival will be held at Bong Bong Picnic Race Course on March 3 and 4 and follows on from the Dan Murphy's Australian Highlands Wine Show on March 1 and 2.

The wine show will showcase cool climate drops from wineries throughout Australia that source grapes from vineyards above 500 metres in altitude.

It will include intense judging behind closed doors on the first day and the opportunity for industry members to take part in various tastings followed by an awards dinner on the second day.

The festivities will become an attraction for all to enjoy when the Food and Wine Festival kicks off on March 3 with a highlight of the event being demonstrations by top chefs Richard Kemp of Eschalot, James Viles of Biota Dining, Warrick Brook from Montfort's of Pepper's Craigieburn, Mark Stone of Stones Restaurant Eling Forest, Luke Latimer from Onesta Cuccina and Robyn Murray from Centennial Vineyards Restaurant.

The six chefs will share their knowledge of local produce and flair for creating exceptional dining experiences.

Their efforts will provide and opportunity for people to learn, taste and savor their culinary creations.

Meanwhile a variety of food, wine and arts and crafts stalls will provide visitors to the festival with even more chances to sample local produce or buy something special to take home.

The gates open to the festival at Bong Bong Picnic Racecourse from 10am to 6pm on Saturday and 9am to 4pm on Sunday.
