Mittagong Swimmers Seamus O'Byrne Inglis (front), Flynn O'Byrne-Inglis, Jess Dunn and Reilly O'Byrne-Inglis will join swimmers from all over the Southern Highlands at an Australia Day swimming carnival today.
Swimmers from all over the Southern Highlands will spend Australia Day in the Mittagong pool helping to raise money for tsunami victims. The Mittagong swimmers will join swimmers from the Bowral, Moss Vale and Bundanoon Swimming Clubs at today's swimming carnival to raise money for Care Australia.
"We planned to have a carnival, but when the tsunami happened, we decided to donate the proceeds to Care Australia and all the clubs were more than willing," said Andrew Inglis of the Mittagong Swimming Club. Wingecarribee Shire Council will donate the day's gate takings to Care Australia. As well as swimming races for all ages, the day will feature entertainment by The Magic Jester, a sausage sizzle and cake stalls. The swim meet will be held at the Mittagong Swimming Centre from 9am to 12.30pm.
