THERE’S some cattle getting around the Monaro region who have full bellies thanks to a wonderful act of generosity from Southern Highlands resident, Lady Jean Griffin.
Monaro cattle are renown for their ability to survive in harsh climates, but drought and a freezing winter has limited the natural feed available in southern NSW.
With most calves born in early spring and sold late autumn to warmer areas for fattening, it would have been a skinnier return for Monaro cattle farmers, the Maguire and Lichtfield families, had it not been for a donation of fodder from Lady Griffin in June.
