The Canyonleigh community united to honour two former residents at a ceremony at Canyonleigh Community Hall on Saturday.
Family members of Horace Quigg and Stephen Sackett were present to unveil plaques dedicated to the men’s significant contributions to the local community.
George Quigg unveiled the plaque dedicated to his father, which was placed near Horace’s remembrance plaque to his wife Grace, who died in 1992.
Shortly after, Mr Sackett’s mother Anne Sackett and her granddaughters Rosie and Mary unveiled the plaque dedicated to him.
Reverend Cyril Turner paid homage to Mr Quigg at the ceremony, while Reverend John Livingstone spoke of the life and sacrifice of Mr Sackett.
