Caged for caring

The RTA has cut down most of the 97 trees along Moss Vale Road in Kangaroo Valley, despite the efforts of more than 100 protesters on Monday.

Several protesters were forcibly removed from the site after resisting police orders to leave, as construction crews and contract workers entered the road to begin work.

The RTA ordered the trees removed to address the 800-metre road's safety standards. Six young people died when their car hit a tree in 2002.
