Work on the 2.5 hectare site at Tyree Place is expected to begin in March.
Bunnings General Manager of Property Matthew Toohey said the company was delighted with news of Wingecarribee Shire Council's approval of the project last week.
Mr Toohey said the development will involve direct investment of $17 million and create 120 full-time and part time jobs, injecting $2 million in salaries into the local economy each year.
Mr Toohey said Bunnings had great confidence in the Southern Highlands economy and its potential for future growth.
