BUNDANOON swimming season pass holders will be the biggest losers under the new changes passed by council.
Wingecarribee Shire Council last week voted to accept the 12 recommendations of the Swimming Pools Board.
One of the options led to the dropping of season tickets in favour of a booklet system, meaning a family of four could be asked to pay almost $900 for using the pools this season.
But users at Bundanoon look to be the worst off if they maintain the same rate of pool usage as last year.
David Chandler from the Friend's of Bowral Pool said Bundanoon swimmers will have to fork out an extra $384 if they maintain last season's average of 425 visits to the pool.
Mr Chandler was also c ritical of the selection of the Swimming Pools Board, which made the decisions.
"The selection of the pool board was deliberately picked with a majority of non-pool users on it," Mr Chandler said.
"The ones that did supposedly represent groups were told not to consult prior to the report being finished.
"Then there was no consultation with their groups before it went to council.
"It is all too obvious and has been going on for too long."
Last year 40 season passes were sold at Bundanoon Swimming Pool costing a maximum of $226 each and raising $9040.
"These season passes were used for 17,000 admissions to the pool," added Mr Chandler.
"To pay for the same number of visits in the coming season, a purchaser will have to buy four of the $140 ticket books ad a book of 25 tickets for $50 giving a season cost of $610."
Mr Chandler continued by saying if pool usage remains the same in the coming season, this measure should reap $23,800 from season pass purchasers, $14,760 more than they paid last year although he has his doubts.
"It is unlikely that pool usage will remain the same though as 156 hours, the equivalent of two weeks of operation last season, has been cut from the opening times of the Bundanoon Swimming Pool," Mr Chandler said.
"The pool users will also have to contend with having to share their pool manager, Mr Parker, with Bowral Pool, which will become his base."
A senior pool attendant will be appointed to supervise Bundanoon pool under Mr Parker's direction.
