BUNDANOON bulged with bikes and bottoms over the weekend as hundreds of cyclists made their way to the Highlands for the annual Highland Fling.
There was a race for everybody at the event, from the kids riding their tiny bikes in loops around Ferndale Reserve to the elite riders on their finely-tuned machines, contesting the Australian Mountain Bike Marathon Championships.
But the bikes were not restricted to the Fling races. There was an abundance of colourful bicycles scattered throughout the town, as they celebrated one of their biggest events of the year.
Many of the riders arrived on Saturday, as the Bundanoon Pony Club morphed into a tent city and hotels across the region opened their doors to the visitors.
But Sunday was race day and all riders were up early preparing for the endurance events.
At the race headquarters, the Scottish tones of race organiser Huw Kingston rang throughout the air, as he sent the riders on their way not long after the sun came up.
The 100 Mile Flingers were first away at 7.30am, before the Elite Full Flingers (112km), the Half Flingers (59km) and the Casual Flingers (14km).
While the riders were out on the track, the kids had their chance to race, with riders as young as three doing laps around the oval.
The main race, the Full Fling, was taken out by defending champion and 2007 World 24-Hour Mountain Bike champion Craig Gordon.
