Bundanoon swimmers have accused Wingecarribee Shire Council of treating the Bundanoon public pool as "second-rate".
Residents Barry Elphick and Andrea Lenane have supported complaints by swimmer Peter Beckett about poor water quality in the pool and unclean dressing rooms.
Mr Elphick, who swims at the Bundanoon Pool six days a week, said the water quality was appalling.
"You can't see a metre in front of you," he said.
Both Mr Elphick and Mrs Lenane, the president of the Bundanoon Swimming Club, believe that the problems are due to the inexperience of pool staff.
"We are treated like a second-rate pool," said Mrs Lenane. "I am dissatisfied that experienced staff have gone to other pools and we have now got girls at Bundanoon who did a two-day crash course.
"I can understand that Bundanoon is a fitting pool for someone to learn on but I object that this is all we are getting: I would like some senior staff to be here two or three days a week."
