Breakdown closes Macquarie Pass

01 Sep, 2010 06:16 PM
Macquarie Pass is closed in all directions after a truck breakdown this afternoon.

The breakdown occurred just before 3pm on the winding stretch of road.

The Roads and Traffic Authority has advised motorists to avoid the area because it is not known when the pass will reopen.

Eastbound light vehicles are being diverted on to Jamberoo Mountain Road and heavy vehicles are being turned around.

All westbound traffic is being turned around at Broughton Road, Tullimbar.
