Woolworths developer Fabcot's contribution to works associated with the Mittagong Marketplace development will be substantially more than the $492,330 financial settlement reported in the Southern Highland News on Monday, Wingecarribee Shire Council director environment and planning Scott Lee said this week.
Fabcot's Land and Environment Court appeal against Wingecarribee Shire Council's conditions of consent for Mittagong Marketplace - scheduled to be heard this week - was dropped after council accepted Woolworths' offer of $492,330.
However, Mr Lee said in addition to this amount, Fabcot will carry out work totalling $1.97 million at its own expense.
Works to be funded by Fabcot include:
p Upgrading the Roscoe Street/Old Hume Highway intersection at a cost of $752,000;
p Formation of Roscoe Street ($1.221 million).
Mr Lee said these items were never in dispute and were set aside from the appeal process and the out-of-court settlement.
