Local artist Cherry Hood has made the finals of this year's Archibald Prize.
Her watercolour portrait of fellow artist Ben Quilty goes head to head with the 40 other finalists in the nation's most prestigious portrait prize.
Ms Hood, from Towrang, has taken out the Archibald Prize before, winning in her second attempt in 2002 for her work Simon Tedeschi Unplugged – a large scale watercolour of the renowned pianist.
