Water could be pumped from the Kangaloon Aquifer as early as January, after community reference groups were informed they had just 10 days to comment before a January start date.
Upper Nepean Groundwater Community Reference Group (UNCRG) member and Kangaloon farmer Jonathan Bell received word last Friday that the Sydney Catchment Authority had lodged a referral to the State Government that day and the community had 10 days to comment. The community has six days to comment from today.
But with the holiday season already in full swing, Wingecarribee Shire councillor Larry Whipper said this was simply not good enough.
