LOVERS of quality and fine antiques will swarm to the area for the 15th annual Southern Highlands Antique Fair on May 4 and 5.
The Bowral Memorial Hall will be transformed into an impressive showcase of antiques when more than 20 dealers from around the country join together for the fair.
Fair organiser Mick Dalton said the event had become a great drawcard for collectors both serious and novice.
"The fair attracts people who are lovers of quality," he said.
"I just don't think the modern furniture has the same quality.
"Traditionally the aim of the fair is to cater for all tastes and incomes from the smallest thimble to a grand Victorian bookcase."
Mr Dalton said prices were competitive and the range of items for sale was enormous.
"The fair enables customers to view many dealers all together under the one roof instead of travelling to 20 different establishments," he said.
There will be Georgian and Victorian jewellery, English and European Porcelain, silver, glass, paintings and furniture both rustic and traditional will be on display.
Mr Dalton said the dealers would endeavour to supply as much information as possible to help the collector.
Some of the dealers that are involved include All Time Treasure, Robertson; Mittagong Antique Centre, Ozloz and Ritzy Bitz.
The doors will be open to the public from 9am-5pm on Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday.
Admission is $6 for adults, which includes a lucky door prize ticket, accompanied children are free.
The money raised will go towards the Bowral and District Hospital Auxiliary who will be conducting a chicken and champagne preview the Friday before the fair.
Tickets for the night are available from Judith Dey on 48612706 or Wendy Pedley on 48611335.
