A 34-YEAR-OLD man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a taxi driver and damaging his taxi at Mittagong on December 13.
The taxi driver told police he had picked up two men in Argyle Street, Moss Vale. While driving to their destination, the taxi driver claims the 34-year-old hit him from the back seat of the cab.
The driver pulled into a service station on the Old Hume Highway at Mittagong, where the man has then allegedly jumped on the bonnet of the car and stomped on the windscreen.
Police located the man on the highway nearby. He was arrested and charged with assault and malicious damage. He will appear before Goulburn Local Court on January 29.
