Aboriginal flag gets nod

The Aboriginal flag will fly outside the Moss Vale Civic Centre permanently from NAIDOC Day.

Wingecarribee Shire Council this week voted in favour of a motion from Cr Larry Whipper to fly the Aboriginal flag alongside the Australian flag and Wingecarribee Shire flag.

Cr Whipper said flying the Aboriginal flag would send a message that indigenous people were welcomed and respected in the shire.

"I think it's something that is important to do," he said.

"It's one small step."
