A little respect goes a long way for our flag

30 Dec, 2002 08:33 AM

Sir,

Regarding Steve Carey's letter (Your Say, November 22).

He will be happy to fly an Australian flag and even salute it when we have our own national symbol and colours, until then sorry - no way.

I will be the first to admit,I don't have our Australian flag flying at my family's home, not on a pole anyway.

One wonders if he along with most Australian's have not at one time or another not shown a little respect, by at least saluting the one to which many men and women of our country's armed services fought under and still do today.

A little respect goes a long way and besides there's nothing wrong with the flag we have is there?
