KickBack 2000; An Evening of Dance is being presented by Bowral High School at 12pm and 7pm on Tuesday November 28 at Bowral High School hall.
Over 200 dancers will perform at the matinee and 140 will perform in the evening.
This is the fourth annual show and it is promised to be their best yet.
To date the students have performed at various events such as The State Dance Festival, The South Coast Dance Festival, Red Cross Dance evening, Student Showcase 99’ at the Seymour Centre in Sydney, the Miss Australia Quest, Wingecarribee Shire Road Safety Day, the Opening of Bowral Library, Rock Eisteddfod and numerous school performances.
KickBack 2000 is a chance for all dance students to perform and present their own works.
“This year there were so students works auditioned that I saw a need to develop a matinee performance along with the evening show,” Dance teacher Raylene Mills said.
As part of the matinee performance, students from Hill Top Primary School and students from the Dance 2001 ensemble have been invited to perform along with the students from Bowral High School.
Items include ‘Strings Attached’, which was performed at the State Dance Festival this year.
‘Angel’ which is a work, choreographed by both Miss Mills and her Year 11 dance students.
Miss Mills trained in Dance at the University of Western Sydney at Nepean and has been teaching at Bowral High for five years.
‘Disco Burn and Smooth’ which were both performed at the Red Cross Dance evening in Moss Vale this year and a variety of student developed works from years 8 to 11.
Miss Mills has also created 13 works this year that will be all performed at the shows.
Every year the show has been greatly received and the student dancers love the opportunity to perform.
This year seems to be an extra special show for many of the performers with so many new student choreographed dances.
Everyone attending will enjoy this event.
Tickets for the matinee are $2 for adults and $1 students.
The evening show Tickets are $5 adults and $2 for students.
