Eighties hits on the Green

03 Feb, 2012 12:00 AM
Tomorrow the wait is finally over for Hall and Oates and Icehouse fans in the Southern Highlands.

Final preparations are underway for tomorrow's A Day On The Green Concert at the Centennial Vineyards in Bowral.

Promoter Michael Newton has seen shows in New Zealand and Melbourne and said fans are in for a treat.

"Icehouse are incredible, it's great to see Iva Davies and the band back on stage," Mr Newton said.

"Hall and Oates kick off with Maneater, one of their US number one hits, it's a fantastic way to start the show and from there on again it's just hit after hit.

"It's a world class concert and we're really pleased we're able to bring them to Bowral."

More than 5000 people are expected at the concert, with gates opening at 2.30pm and music starting at 3.15pm.

Icehouse perform at 5.30pm while Hall & Oates take the stage at 7.15pm.

As many locals know, there will be tickets available on the day at the winery, so there is no need to stress about missing out.

Mr Newton advises all patrons to be prepared in case of rain.

"There is some rain about in the Highlands so everyone needs to come prepared with wet weather gear and sensible footwear just in case," he said.

"I would also recommend customers check the Berrima Bus line pick up points because that's a good way to ensure easy access to the show in case any of the car parks are weather affected."
