ONE of Australia’s best known flautists, Jane Rutter, will perform for the Arts Bundanoon annual champagne concert at 7pm this Saturday.
There are still a few tickets remaining to see this versatile musician who regularly crosses from classical to jazz to pop.
After completing her initial music education at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Rutter studied with Alain Marion and Jean-Pierre Rampal in Paris. She then returned to Australia to lecture in flute and chamber music at the Sydney Conservatorium.
She has since performed in the UK, Europe, USA, South-East Asia, the South Pacific, South America and China.
Jane performs regularly at the Sydney Opera House and has toured extensively with her one-woman show Tutti Flutti.
She played at the 1999 National Flute Convention in Atlanta, USA and in 2000 was international guest artist at the International Flute Festival in Brazil.
In 2005 Rutter was the patron of the Australian International Flute Convention.
She has appeared as guest soloist with many prominent artists across different styles, including Richard Bonynge, Michael Crawford, The Manhattan Transfer, Tina Arena, David Hirshfelder, Slava Grigoryan and Simon Tedeschi.
Rutter has performed as a soloist with most Australian Symphony Orchestras, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the City of Hong Kong Chamber Orchestra and many others.
She is an established artist with ABC Classics and has recorded ten solo albums, all of which have been best sellers.
This Saturday she will be accompanied by acclaimed Brisbane based pianist Dave Mibus at the Bundanoon Soldiers Memorial Hall.
